That phase was very difficult and hard for me as my self confidence had gone down because of my excess weight.
I was constantly looking out for ways to get rid of that excess weight off me. I did come across a lot of information, however some were useful while some were misleading.
There was a lot of “lose weight quickly” information and advertisement. which was definitely Rubbish as there are no quick fixes. Losing weight requires time, patience and healthy way of living.
Studies have shown that weight that leaves easily comes back easily. If you lose a lot of weight very quickly, you may not lose as much fat as you would with a more modest rate of weight loss. Instead, you might lose water weight or even lean tissue, since it’s hard to burn that many fat calories in a short period.
But if we are patient and do not expect instant results, the fat cells will adjust to their new size more willingly.
So I decided to be patient and follow a slow and steady way. I focused on eating healthy and working out regularly. Along with adaptation of few habits which helped me trim the fat.
The biggest change that I made was starting my day with the right kind of drink which helped me a lot by detoxifying my body.
Mentioned below are the drinks that worked and still do for me :
1.) Apple Cider Vinegar and Cinnamon :
Both of these ingredients are considered to be an excellent for weight loss.
Apple cider vinegar alkalizes and cleanses the body, stabilizes blood sugar and suppresses hunger. However we must make sure that we use organic unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar with mother for best results.
Cinammon is one of the best anti-oxidants on the planet. It is the number one herb/spice for balancing blood sugar. It is thought to be a thermogenic, which means that it increases internal body heat, thus speeding up the metabolism.
- 1 glass of luke warm water
- 1 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon powder
Mix all the ingredients together and drink on empty stomach.
2.) Lemon and Honey:
This mix helps cleanse the liver which in turn removes the toxins from the body. Since the body is now free of toxins, metabolism gets boosted and the body starts functioning much better.
Liver is mainly responsible for producing protein and maintaining digestion process, so it is essential that the liver is kept pure and functions well.
- 1 glass luke warm water
- 1 lemon
- 1 tbsp honey
Squeeze lemon juice in glass of water, add honey. Stir well and drink on empty stomach.
3.) Ginger, Mint and lemon:
This mix helps in improving digestion and increase absorption of food which aids in weight loss.
- 2 glass water
- 1 or 2 inch ginger
- Mint leaves a few ( 10-15 leaves)
- 1/2 lemon
- Pour water in a pan and keep on gas stove.
- Add mint and ginger in water pan.
- Boil till reduced to half.
- Allow to cool.
- Strain and squeeze in lemon juice and drink on empty stomach.
I keep switching between these drinks time to time as per my choice and convenience. They have worked well for me and i still continue drinking these.
